The Last Week Of My Mission Is A Fun One

September 29, 2014

The family that fed us is from Arizona. The lived by us when we lived by Mountain View. You'll be happy to know that she cooked us broccoli just to be funny and I ate it all. That's too bad about your knee, I hope everything goes well.

This week was really good. We got to teach Stephen again a few times as well as Ruben and a few other people. We had two more exchanges this week so I wasn't even in my area for half the week.

We were out walking around on Saturday and we saw this lady walking on the side walk. So we walk up to her and ask her if she would like a card from our church. In response she throws up her hands, points to the sky and says, "Jesus is my savior and Mormonism is a cult!" then she runs off... it is pretty funny how childish grown people act.

The last week of my mission is a fun one. Wednesday we have mission leadership council and we get to watch that Meet the Mormons movie afterwards (all the missionaries get a sneak peak). Then Thursday we spend all day planning our zone meeting we have the next day. Then Friday we have Zone meeting and a ton of lessons. Saturday and Sunday are conference and packing up my stuff. Monday I have to be at the mission home at four and then Tuesday I will see y'all around 12:30.

Love ya, see you in 8 days!

He Read The Restoration Pamphlet Five Times

September 22, 2014

Wow that rooms looks really good! I did know that Sister Griffin is from Thatcher, we are actually serving in the same ward right now. There are a lot of missionaries here from Mesa. Do you know what I'm supposed to speak on? I'm sorry to hear about your knee, I hope everything goes well with that. Knee injuries are no fun.

This week was really good for us. If you remember a few weeks back I had told y'all about that man named Stephen who Elder Tucker and I met taking out his trash and he came to church. Well we finally got to meet with him and he is so prepared. He has had a lot of rough things happen in his life and he is just really looking for peace and happiness in his life and he is just so accepting. He told us that he read the restoration pamphlet five times this past week because he likes it so much and that he keeps it in his car with him. He is going to get baptized at the end of October!

Tupperware Doesn't Hold Up Too Well

September 15, 2014

(Elder Romney's 21st Birthday!)

Thanks! I did get you package, thanks. By the way, Tupperware doesn't hold up too well in the mail. The container was smashed into a lot of pieces, but the cookies still tasted good, thanks! It has rained a lot over here too. It’s been nice to see the sun the past few days.  By the way, my bike should be there today, please leave it in the box.

This week was good, I got to do a few exchanges with other missionaries so it’s been fun. Other than that it was really slow week for us, we had a lot of cancellations (Satan sucks...). We met a lot of awesome people last week who told us to come back, so we are hoping that this week will be better! We had a great meeting with the stake president again last night. I love the opportunity to learn from him and help him know what's going on with the missionaries in the stake. Other than that, there isn't too much to talk about this week, love ya.

We Had An Amazing Miracle Yesterday

September 8, 2014

My new companion is Elder Bettilyon, he is from Salt Lake City. I just shipped my bike this morning. I just ended up going to the UPS store, they were the cheapest I could find. It was $98. I tried to find the cheaper but I couldn't. I even took my bike almost all the way apart to fit it in a smaller box. It should get there next Monday. Please DO NOT assemble it. Leave it in the box till I get home, I will take care of it. I did get Kiley's card, it was really funny. The address does work now, it must have been the ZIP code, sorry.

We had an amazing miracle yesterday. Elder Tucker and I had met a man named Stephen two weeks ago outside his house taking his trash cans to the curb. At first he threw out all the normal misconceptions and then invited us to share briefly our message. After we shared the restoration he told us that he believed us and asked if he could come to church in two weeks (he had work that Sunday). So we said yes and went on our way. We called him this past Saturday to confirm he would still be there and he said that he would. He came and had a wonderful time! He said that he felt very welcome and told many of the members that he would see them all next week. As church was ending we set up a return appointment and told us that he really enjoyed it all and said it felt genuine and from the heart. He also said he had some questions he would ask us on Tuesday. This man is so prepared!

This transfer will go by so quick, not only because it is short, but also because it is so busy. We planned everything we needed to do for the zone this week and in order to fit everything in we have to do 2 exchanges a week, plus we have a zone conference one week, Mission Leadership Council and Zone meeting the next, and then I finish it all off with my last weekend being conference. On top of all of that we are so busy that we are struggling finding time to make appointments. I am so glad to be busy, there is no way I can't even think about letting up right now.

That's about it, love ya.
