It Was A Neat Experience

June 24, 2013

The baptism went super well! Mike and his daughter were so excited to be baptized. It was a neat experience to baptize them both. It makes everything all worth it! Well we actually don't get a car anymore... some zone leaders in Raleigh crashed their car so they got the car we were supposed to get cause I guess zone leaders are more important and can’t ride bikes apparently. So I’m still biking around in the heat in humidity. And with the new mission I have to start all over again to try and get us a car. So I probably won’t have one ever in this area. So in the Chesapeake mission you don't mail or send anything to the mission office. It goes directly to your apartment. This includes letters and packages. So I will have to keep you updated on my address so if anyone wants to send me anything they can. So that might be a pain, we will see what happens. Transfers are July 10th so it’ll be interesting to see what the new president does with all of us. I enjoyed the broadcast last night I hope the members got motivated. There are so many missionaries everywhere now! Well I’ll talk to ya next week love ya.

There Was A Huge Thunderstorm

June 17, 2013

I don't know anything about the new mission except it starts July 1st, our president gets here june27th his name is President Baker and I’m in it. We ate dinner with the stake president last night and he mentioned something about some broadcast but it wasn't announced in the ward so I don't know anything. That cake sounds super good! I miss sweets as a missionary... well this was a really slow week. There was a huge thunderstorm that knocked a ton of people’s power and knocked down a ton of trees and there was a ton of rain. So we had a lot of people cancel appointments because they didn't have power. But this next week will be good. We have a goodbye zone conference Thursday where we officially get kicked out of the Raleigh mission and we get a car for our area too so I won’t be all bike any more. It’ll be so nice to have a car it’s so hot and humid out here! Plus we have a 2 baptism Saturday so it’ll be a good week. Well hope you have fun and stay safe. Love ya'

I Had An Interesting Experience At Transfers

June 10, 2013

Ya so I had an interesting experience at transfers this week. Usually our mission president will call you the week before transfers and tell you if you are training or going leadership and whatnot and I didn't get a call so I figured I was just going to be a normal missionary this transfer. So I got to the meeting early to help set stuff up and all that jazz, and I’m sitting there minding my own business talking to some other elders when I hear my name being called so I turn around and it’s this elder standing with another elder I don't recognize. So I head over there to talk to him and he says this is my new companion. I was really confused cause usually we don't know until the big meeting. Then he says it’s the new elder I’m training and I’m super confused cause I wasn't told I was training. So I go and find president to ask him and he is like "oh ya I forgot to call you I guess, by the way you are training" and then walks away. So long story short I get to train two new elders in a row. Yes we are teaching 2 families right now. The one we just found his wife doesn't want to be baptized but Bro. Falco and his 9 yr. old daughter do! It’ll be on the 22nd and they want me to baptize them! I’m super excited, it’ll be a great experience! My new companion is Elder McGettigan from West Valley City, Utah. He’s actually 18. I actually have 2 pics for you this week. The first is Elder Mcgettigan and I and the second is Elder Melander and I. Well not much is going on here besides a whole bunch of missionary work. Well talk to ya next week, love ya.

I'm Officially Going To Be In The New Mission

June 3, 2013

So I’m not getting transferred, I’m officially going to be in the new mission when it starts in July. Tell bishop that I want two plaques. One for Raleigh and one for Chesapeake. We had the greatest week ever last week! We found the greatest family in the world, it’s a husband, wife and 9 yr. old daughter. They are friends with a bishop in another ward, that's how we found them. They have read the entire Book of Mormon, Pearl of Great Price, and D& C, and they know the church is true. They are the most solid family and should get baptized before June is over. We also had the most hard core bible bash ever. These people were super nice and then as soon as they found out we were Mormon they went like completely crazy and start talking about all this anti stuff and quoted Wikipedia as there source, I don't understand people sometimes.  I’m glad that dad was able to get Lasik.  I guess the church is changing everything around, new missions and new wards. It’ll be interesting to hear what has happened. Well I’ll let ya know who my new companion is next week, I’ll meet him tomorrow at transfers. Well have a great week, love ya.
