I'm Going to Clayton

March 11, 2013

Here’s some pictures, one is with a man named Bruce. He is pretty much the sweetest guy you will ever meet. He has some sort of mental disability but he’s super cool. We sit with him in sacrament and elders quorum and stuff. He was our best friend out here. The other is a Hispanic couple that the Spanish Elders just baptized. They cooked for us, homemade corn tortillas, refried beans, horchata, and carne. It was the greatest meal I have ever eaten! I thought I told you where I was going, I’m going to Clayton. That’s cool that you get to go to Idaho! Any big plans with Bethanee? Well I guess you’ll just tell me about it next week. Was it nice to have a week off of work? Well nothing to crazy has happened this week. We had a couple of final appointments. It’s sad to say goodbye to everyone. The worst part of a mission is packing. It is so hard to fit everything back into a few suitcases after having everything spread out in an apartment. I’ll let ya know all about my first week of training next week. Love ya,

We Get To Go To The Temple

March 4, 2013

Ya, I hope the next missionaries coming in don’t mess something up or scare them away, they are such a good family and we only get to teach them one more time tomorrow. Our president told us that there is a new mission in Virginia, the Chesapeake mission. And that mission is taking part of our mission and some of our missionaries. So in July some elders in the mission are switching missions. He hasn’t told us which ones or anything he just let us know it’ll be happening. That’s good that Shelli gets to go home, I don’t blame her for being sick of one of those kinds of places. How is she feeling? Is she getting better? Well it’s been a slow week, nothing really happened we only had one lesson that didn’t cancel and nothing else’s happened. We get to go to the temple on the 15 so that’ll be exciting and I’ll send some pictures then. Well love ya.

So March 12th I'll Be a Trainer

February 25, 2013

Wow the weather everywhere is crazy! It’s good to hear Shelli is out of the hospital. Is she feeling any better? Well not too much happened this week, but I got some exciting/scary news. On Thursday we had interviews with President. As soon as I got in there he told me he was going to ask me to do something a little strange next transfer. Next transfer I am whitewash training. I’ll be four and a half months out and I get to train, it’s kind of scary. But I guess the lord knows I can do it. In my patriarchal blessing its says that I will be called upon and not feel ready for various assignments but that is when I’m called and that’s when I’ll be of most use to the lord because I’m humble. So I guess I can’t be too scared. I’m excited though. President said he was impressed with me at various times and believes I can do it so I guess I’m doing something right out here. So March 12th I’ll be a trainer. Well other than that news, it’s been a pretty slow week nothing too crazy happened. We are still teaching that part member family, and things are going well. That’s about it. Love ya.

4 Elders Moved the Whole House

February 18, 2013

I did get the package thank you, it got there right on Valentine’s Day. I really enjoyed it, thanks. The sugar cookies looked all weird but tasted good! Yes  we just have to keep working with him, we have another lesson with him Wednesday. His wife got her patriartical blessing on Sunday so hopefully something really good can come out of that!  That’s a pretty busy week? How’s your assistant lady? That’s good, do a lot of them still live in AZ? I don’t think I’ll go to any of my reunions. I did enjoy all the treats thank you! Well on Saturday, Elder Segundo, the other ward elders and I had to help someone move. And with our luck the elders quorum didn’t show up, so 4 elders moved the whole house, and guess what? At 12ish it started to snow!! And didn’t stop till like 3 in the morning. I was freezing! The weird thing is that on Friday it was 60 something and we didn’t have to wear jackets. This state is crazy! None of the snow stuck and it didn’t ice again but it was cool to see snow fall again, it’s only like the third time. Well not much has happened. I’ll hopefully have some pics and better stories next week. Love ya bye.

I'm Excited to Stay in Goldsboro

February 11, 2013

Ya, I’m excited to stay in Goldsboro, Elder Segundo is already getting rid of stuff to go home, I have like 10 new ties! I’ve met Brother Page before, but never her. Ya there are going to be a lot of missionaries everywhere, that’s all anyone ever talks about at church. The family we ate dinner with last night showed us that video. It’s crazy! At stake conference they had all the missionaries leaving stand up and bear testimony. They have 9 elders and 2 sisters leaving from the stake in the coming months.  Has Shelli been doing ok with everything or has it gotten worse?  This week we had a really good lesson with one of our investigators Dekker. He is the one whose wife is a member. We watched the movie Prophet of the Restoration, it’s about Joseph Smith, and when it was over he was all teary eyed and lost for words. He said he didn’t know it was like that and that it was that hard or anything and he said it inspired him and motivated him to learn more about what he doesn’t know! The family that is friends with him in the ward says he knows it’s all true, he just wants to take his time and be sure, so hopefully before I get transferred I can see him be baptized!. Well that’s about it for this week, love ya.

The Baptism Went Great!

February 4, 2013

Well the baptism went great! It was such a neat experience! Her uncle who was less active got to baptize her, it was amazing. And after he was talking to bishop about how he could get the melchizedek priesthood. Such a solid family! Weather out here is weird, two days this week it was like 75 and then the rest was like a high of 40.... No it’s not like Arizona; this is normal weather. No trees fell or anything, there were a couple accidents from icy roads but nothing big. That’s cool, how long was President Reader pres? How old is Brigg? He’s such a smart kid. Well not too much has happened, except the other guy that we are teaching whose wife is a member is coming along great, he works on base so his schedule is weird but when we teach him, he is solid. His wife wants to get her patriarichal blessing and they really want to be an eternal family he just wants to know for himself that this is right. We teach him again on Friday. Oh I didn’t get transferred, still in Goldsboro with Segundo, I kill him this transfer. We have 180ish missionaries now, 18 sisters. By October we will have around 250 with 80 something sisters, it’s insane. Well love ya.
