Needless to Say, I Almost Threw Up...

January 21, 2012

So I’ve got some good stories this week! I’m basically a celebrity. There is a Hispanic guy that lives in the trailer behind us, and the Spanish elders are teaching him. He wanted to meet us because Segundo speaks Spanish. But when I told him my name he asked me a question I hadn’t gotten on my mission yet. He asked me if I was related to the Mexico Romney’s. I guess he’s from the same city as them or something. But I told him I was and he asked the Mitt question, and then he asked for a picture with me! But it was dark so we didn’t take one so I’m not sure if he was serious. Then we were at a fast food restaurant and this kid who was probably 12 came up and asked "are you kin to Mitt?" if I had a penny for every time I’ve heard that I’d be filthy rich! And when I told him I was distantly related he was super excited and shook my hand and ran off. Then my companion walked by him talking to his mom and the kid said he was changing his Facebook status to say he met a Romney. I’m famous out here!  Dad had asked me if there was anything like Filebertos out here, but I found someplace more authentic. No one speaks English there and it’s all crazy weird Spanish food, so I’ve got a couple of things to add to the list of new things I’ve eaten. The first is cow tongue tacos. Never thought that I would ever eat tongue, but I loved it! It was super good. The second was menudo.... which is cow intestines cooked in a cow stomach. Needless to say, I almost threw up.... but the work is going super good, we have a new ward mission leader who is super involved in the work so we are going to be busy! Thursday we have a baptismal interview so hopefully everything goes good! We had a 70 at zone conference. It was Elder Paul Piper, it was a good conference I learned a lot about how to teach. Well that’s about all, hope you enjoy the pictures love ya.
