This Week Was Good

October 28, 2013

We are doing a trunk  r treat, it’s on Friday. This week was good, we are teaching pretty much the nicest lady I have ever met in my entire life! She is so fun to talk to and just sincerely wants to learn, but she is super southern Baptist. At the end of the lesson when we prayed with her, we all grabbed hands in a circle and I started to pray, and she started to say things like, "Yes Jesus" "please lord" "amen" "Thank ya Jesus" and a ton of other very cliché southern religious sayings while I was praying. It was super funny. Everything is going well. It’s starting to get cold though, which I’m not the biggest fan of, but right now it’s just been really nice weather.  Just so you know I have 2 boxes of contacts left, and that can last me for quite a while so I’ll let you know when it gets closer to me needing more. Well I guess that's about it this week, love ya.

So On Thursday I Hit My Year Mark

October 21, 2013

This week was just normal, not too much exciting happened. I got to do my first baptismal interview last night. That was a new experience, being on the other side of a desk for an interview. It was interesting to watch the man be all nervous. Now I know how bishops feel. I don’t really know what to talk about this week, we helped someone with their lawn and helped with an eagle project so that was fun. Everything that happens just feels normal to me, it’s just everyday life so I don’t know what else to talk about this week. Love ya.

Yes I Did Eat Vegatables And All

October 14, 2013

Did you try and invite your friend over for dinner? And yes I did eat vegetables and all, shocker I know. Peas and spinach are about the only vegetables I enjoy eating everything else I just deal with. The pretzels were delicious, it’s been fun to cook. I didn’t really cook too much till I got here but now we are cooking up a storm. Not too much happened this week it rained a lot so it slowed us down. We had interviews with president Friday so that went really well. Then we had a fireside with the ward about doing missionary work last night. That went really well. We ate dinner with a family before the fireside, a super young couple like 21, and we had a neat experience with them. At the end of the dinner we shared a spiritual message from Omni 1:26 that talks about offering your whole soul to Christ. And we talked about that for a while and then after we asked them what they could do this week to offer their soul more fully to Christ. And the husband said they were going to come to the fireside. They weren’t planning on it, but the husband said its feels like a good thing to do. The whole goal of the fireside was to help members receive revelation about who to share the gospel with and how to share the gospel.  After the fireside the members came up to us and were talking about this friend and asking questions on how to get missionaries over there and that they feel like they really needed to help her and all this amazing stuff. So it was a pretty good night last night. Other than that though not too much to talk about. Talk to ya next week, love ya.

I Know This Is Where I Am Suppose To Be

October 7, 2013

This week was really good, not too much happened but conference and transfers went really well. It’s interesting, back when I was in the Raleigh mission something always just felt a little different, just a little off. Ever since I have been in this mission, that feeling is gone. Whenever I am around other missionaries here or hear President Baker speak I feel at home, I know this is where I am supposed to be. My new companions name is Elder Ballantyne, he is from Utah/Idaho (he moved a lot). He’s a really good kid and wants to learn, so training should actually be productive and fun this time. Last Monday we made homemade pretzels, we also made fried rice and chicken too. That’s what the pictures are. Conference was awesome, I feel like I learned a lot, did you enjoy conference? Well I guess that’s about it, love ya.
