We did set Alex with a baptismal date, it’s for 24 May. If I
can find a member to take us I can go back down and see it. Elder Pelham stayed
in VA Beach.
We will be able to Skype, but we forgot that Mother’s Day
was next weekend and didn't ask the member feeding us that night if we could
Skype at their house. We have church from 1 to 4. I’ll either find out today
and send you a quick email or our zone leaders will call you and tell you what
time once we ask the member.
Transfers went well, my new companion is Elder Fullerton he
is from Carlsbad, California. Things have gone well so far, we haven't had a
whole lot of time to do anything because of all the meetings we have had this
weekend. I got to see Elder Bednar twice also. Once at the missionary meeting
in Richmond and then he also came to our stake for a special stake meeting with
all the members. They were both super good. He talked a lot about the basics,
that's one thing I’ve noticed about conference and meetings like this, there is
nothing big or grand that they talk about, they just cover the basics. Elder
Bednar says if we are tired of the repetition than we need to change because we
dictate what they talk about. If we don't want to hear another talk about tithing
then we all need to pay our tithing and they won’t talk about it so much. It
was pretty funny.
There is a lot of work to do here in this ward, we are
almost starting from scratch. We contacted all the investigators that were here
before we got here and two of them dropped us. So we have a few still but lots
of time to work. The ward is really good, we have had time to swing by and
introduce ourselves to a lot of them and they are all pretty missionary
focused, I’m excited for the next few weeks.
I had pictures to send but then when I unpacked I couldn't
find my camera cord.... I’ll look for it and have pictures for you next week.
Love ya
Jordan
