We had a storm a few days ago that was more intense that
that "hurricane". I’ll be excited to get away from all this humidity.
I’ve had some really neat experiences with the book of
Mormon this week. In both instances I had written in my journal the night before
about some frustrations I have been having about some various things. Then the
next day while reading the Book of Mormon I received revelation pertaining to
both of these journal entries. One happened Monday and the other yesterday. The
cool thing is that we have been reading through the Book of Mormon as a mission
at a certain pace, but apparently they sent an updated reading schedule that I
never got so I have been behind. But if I hadn't have been behind I don't think
I would have learned the lessons that I needed to in order to sort out these
questions I have been having.
One of the experiences I had related to trying to figure out
the when, where, how of school. I was reading in 3 Nephi when Christ is
teaching the people and in chapter 13: 25-34 Christ is talking with his
apostles and is telling them about what they need to focus on when they
serve. And it hit me that I don't need to worry about college and
home stuff right now, and that I just need to focus on the last
3 months I have out here. I have decided that I haven't decided what I’m
going to do when I get back. I also decided that I don't need to worry about it
until I get back.
Over all from these past couple of weeks I have noticed the
Lord teaching me that I can trust in his timing and that he knows what is going
on and that he is in control. From the experience with that young man that
spoke and grandpa to these experience I have had with the Book of Mormon as
well as dozens of other experiences that I have had, the Savior is showing me
and teaching me to be patient and trust him.
We have started teaching a 9 yr old boy who hasn't
been baptized yet, we have had two lessons so far and he is a cool little kid. Saturday
we set him with a date for baptism, the first weekend in September, so things
are going well. We find out if we get transferred this weekend, so by next
email ill know if I’m staying here or not.
That’s about it, love ya
